Your body has the capacity to heal itself – sometimes it just needs a little help. I take a holistic, body-mind perspective in helping you figure out your unique healing journey. Working with a diverse client base through years of practicing psychology in Canada and abroad, I have narrowed my focus to various traumas (childhood and family of origin trauma, etc.), grief and bereavement, depression, anxiety, career and workplace concerns, and relationship challenges.
I believe that you are the expert in your own life, and I collaborate with you to develop an individualized, holistic plan to help you reduce stress, regulate your nervous system, eliminate obstacles, and reach your desired goals. I trust in your inherent ability for optimal growth and work from a strengths-based perspective to empower you. I understand that when clients feel genuinely heard, understood, and accepted, they have the freedom to become their best selves.
Utilizing an integrative approach to therapy, I draw heavily on Person Centred Therapy (PCT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Mindfulness-based approaches, attachment theory, and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). In my couple’s work, I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Gottman Couples Counselling, and communication-enhancing tools.
My goal is to help you reconnect with all the parts of you which may have been abandoned or rejected, and help you integrate all these parts into a flourishing whole. When you feel safe and connected in your own mind and body, it will enable you to feel safe and connected in supportive and loving relationships.
