Fees & Billing
Fee Schedule
Counselling fees are $220 per 50-minute session with our Registered Psychologists and $200 per 50-minute session with our Registered Provisional Psychologists. 80-minute EMDR sessions are charged at a rate of $330 per session.
Sliding scale fees may be offered on a case-by-case basis. Each counsellor is responsible for their sliding scale rates and availability. Please check with your counsellor about their availability and your eligibility for the sliding scale.
The $220 per 50-minute session fee aligns with the standard recommendations set by the Psychologist Association of Alberta. To read more about the Fee Schedule suggestions by PAA, click here.
Health Benefit Insurance
Depending on your current health insurance provider, our services may be covered in part or in full. Please contact your provider to verify how your plan compensates you for psychologist services.
We recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:
-
Does my health insurance plan include mental health benefits?
-
Do I have a deductible? If so, how much is it?
-
Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?
Payment
For your convenience, we have implemented touchless payment through our clinic management software which means no more awkward waiting to pay your bill after an appointment. Your card details will be securely stored in our clinic software, and you will receive an emailed receipt once payment is processed.
We accept payment by credit card, visa debit card, and debit master card. You will be prompted to input your card details when creating your profile on Jane, our clinic software.
Alternatively, you can send an e-transfer to intake@psycentre.ca. Please ensure it is recieved at least 48-hours prior to your appointment or the appointment will be cancelled.
Jane adheres to the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) to ensure the safety of you card information.

Appointment and Cancellation Policy
Appointments are scheduled at 60 minutes or 1 hour in length. Of this hour, 50 minutes are allocated to you and your counsellor for therapy and the remaining 10 minutes to your counsellor for record keeping. If you arrive late to your session, your counsellor will still need to end the session at the scheduled time. For ethical reasons, your counsellor will not begin a session if you are more than 20 minutes late. Therefore, if you are late by 20 minutes or more, your session will be forfeited and needs to be rescheduled. You will be charged for the missed appointment.
If you are unable to attend a session, please make sure to notify your counsellor at least 24-hours in advance so that other clients are given a chance to book it. Appointments cancelled or rescheduled with less than 24 hour’s notice will be charged a Late Cancellation Fee.
-
Cancellations 12 - 24 hours before the appointment will incur a charge equal to 50% of your session fee.
-
Cancellations less than 12 hours before the appointment will incur a charge equal to the full session fee.
These fees will be automatically be charged to the card on file. For this reason, we require all clients to have valid credit cards on their Jane App account.
